RIBELA FEST: A HARMONIOUS BLEND OF MUSIC, ART, AND NATURE

As the sun rose on the 28th of July 2024, the Ribela Festival concluded its two-day celebration in the heart of Sarria, Spain. This unique event, centered around love for nature, left attendees with memories of music, art, and sustainability that will linger long after the last notes faded away.

    A GREEN OASIS: THE VENUE

From the outset, Ribela Festival embraced its commitment to nature. Nestled amidst rolling greenery, the festival unfolded within the walls of an old barn—a rustic gem that defied its age. Away from the town’s hustle and bustle, attendees were greeted by the barn’s weathered charm. Despite its antiquity, the organisers had meticulously transformed it into a functional space, ensuring all necessary amenities were met. A nearby camping site allowed festival-goers to immerse themselves fully in the natural surroundings.

    MUSIC, ART, AND PROJECTION MAGIC

Ribela Festival transcended mere entertainment—it became a living canvas where music, art, and nature harmonised.

    Electronic Music Artists

Thirteen electronic music artists took the stage, their beats weaving through the air. Attendees danced, lost in the rhythm, as Ribela’s heart pulsed with energy.

    Curatos and Artworks

Six curators (Empress Trash; Objkt; Unknown Collector; XCOLLABZ, Pole, Sutan) selected over 200 artworks. These artworks adorned the festival grounds, transforming every corner. From the LED screen to circular projections and barn walls, art breathed alongside the music.

    The LED Canvas

    – Size and Impact: The large LED screen on stage towering above the crowd. Its sheer size ensured attendees could immerse themselves in the visual feast.

    – Dynamic Art: As each musical note reverberated, the LED screen came alive. Artworks—previously curated by talented artists—unfolded in vibrant hues. Abstract forms danced, landscapes shifted, and emotions materialised.

    – Synchronized Symphony: The screen’s visuals synchronized with the music. When a bass drop resonated, the screen pulsed in rhythm. During melodic interludes, it painted delicate strokes of colour.

    – Art as Atmosphere: Attendees found themselves enveloped in a multisensory experience. The LED screen transformed the stage into a living gallery, where sound and sight merged seamlessly.

    Portals to Another Dimension

As night descended, the circular screen projections took on an ethereal quality. They ceased to be mere displays; they became portals. Attendees stood transfixed, feeling as though they could step through into alternate realities. The boundary between art and observer blurred, and Ribela’s magic intensified.

    Stone Walls and Illuminated Trees

Beyond the LED screen, the ancient stone walls of the barn played their part. Projected art danced across their rough surfaces, creating a juxtaposition of tradition and innovation. Meanwhile, the surrounding trees—adorned with special light displays and responsive sensors—seemed to breathe with the music. Their leaves shimmered, mirroring the emotions conveyed by the musicians.

In this symphony of light and sound, Ribela Festival transcended the ordinary. Attendees left not only entertained but transformed—a testament to the power of art woven seamlessly into the fabric of music.

    TEZOS: A GREEN SPONSORSHIP

In perfect harmony with the festival’s nature theme, Tezos—a blockchain known for its eco-friendly approach—participated as one of the sponsor. Artworks minted on the Tezos blockchain were introduced to festival-goers, who marveled at both the creativity and the innovative presentation. It was a match made in sustainability heaven.

    THE DEDICATED POLE TEAM

Behind the scenes, the Pole team worked tirelessly to manage the art side of the event. With limited resources, they pulled off an extraordinary show, ensuring that each artwork was displayed with care and precision. Their dedication and hard work contributed significantly to the festival’s success. @_joesimon @sutanz @AuRo404 @webidente

    NFTS AND BLOCKCHAIN EXPOSURE

Ribela Festival broke new ground by incorporating NFTs into a music festival. Attendees were exposed to the world of blockchain technology, bridging the gap between art and innovation. For many, it was an eye-opening experience—an introduction to the possibilities of decentralised platforms.
